Lady Dolphins Sweep Houston City College, Secure Second Place in Lone Star Sport Club Conference
The Alvin College Lady Dolphins finished conference play on a high note Wednesday night, sweeping Houston City College in straight sets at home to officially lock up second place in the Lone Star Sport Club Conference. Alvin controlled the opening two sets with ease before showing composure late in a competitive third set to complete the 3-0 victory.

The Lady Dolphins took the match by scores of 25-12, 25-8, and 26-24.
Alvin came out sharp from the opening serve and never let Houston City College settle into rhythm. The Lady Dolphins set the tone early in the first set with consistent play on both sides of the ball, then followed it up with a dominant second-set performance to take full control of the match.
Houston City College pushed back in the third, forcing a tighter finish, but Alvin responded when it mattered most. The Lady Dolphins held their ground late and closed out the set, 26-24, to secure the sweep and cap off the regular conference slate with an important home win.
With the victory, Alvin College clinched second place in the Lone Star Sport Club Conference and now advances to the Lone Star Sport Club Conference Playoff Tournament this Saturday at Lone Star College-Kingwood.
The Lady Dolphins will open tournament play against University of Houston-Downtown in a best-of-five semifinal match. A win would send Alvin into the championship match at 1:30 p.m.
Alvin now turns its attention to postseason play with momentum on its side and a chance to compete for a conference championship.
