Dolphins Fall in Three Close Sets at Lone Star College–Houston North
Alvin College battled through three tight sets but fell to Lone Star College–Houston North on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 27–29, 24–26, 23–25. The Dolphins move to 1–1 in Lone Star Sport Club Conference play.
Alvin College Volleyball dropped a tight conference match to Lone Star College–Houston North on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, falling in three close sets: 27–29, 24–26, 23–25.
The opener set the tone immediately, with both teams trading long runs and side-outs deep into extra points. Alvin battled off multiple set points, but Lone Star edged it 29–27. Set two stayed just as physical and disciplined, with Alvin keeping pressure on late, but Houston North again executed in the final few rallies to take it 26–24. In the third, Alvin showed fight and stayed within a point or two down the stretch, but Lone Star closed cleanly to finish the sweep 25–23.
Despite the loss, the match served as an early conference measuring stick. Alvin now stands 1–1 in the Lone Star Sport Club Conference, with plenty of season left and clear takeaways to build on heading into the next conference week.
