Bio
Hello! My name is John Brundrett, and I am the Head Coach of ACC FINZ ESPORTS. I am myself a graduate of ACC, and it is because of the impactful and positive experiences that I had here that I care so deeply about the success and growth of this institution.
My experience with gaming did not begin in my own home like most people, because I did not grow up with many consoles in the house. Instead, my earliest memories of gaming were when I went to friends’ houses and we would play Halo, Mario Kart, Call of Duty, and many, many other games. I also grew to love RuneScape, and the Total War and Assassins Creed series. As an adult, I have taken to collecting retro consoles and TVs to play and use in part to experience at least some small part of the vast gaming offerings that I had only limited experience with as a child.
My primary role at the college is as a history instructor – a dream job which I truly love. As of October 2024, however, I was given the opportunity to also become the Head Coach of ACC’s Esports program founded by Dr. Huff Mann in Spring 2023. My hope is to grow ACC’s Esports program in both the club and competitive spaces in order to increase enrollment, retention, and prestige for ACC.
