Dolphins Sweeps the Cougars in Conference Series
Alvin College Baseball delivered a commanding performance this past week, completing a four-game conference sweep over Coastal Bend College. The Dolphins showcased a balanced attack of power hitting, timely offense, and dominant pitching to secure the series victory.
Game 1: Dolphins Open with Run-Rule Victory
Alvin College wasted no time setting the tone in Game 1, exploding for four runs in the opening inning en route to a 10-0 run-rule win in five innings.
The Dolphins' offense was fueled by multiple extra-base hits, while Ronnie Rouse led the way with three RBIs. Contributions from Nayden Ramirez, Dylan Marbury, and Jayce Richardson helped extend the early lead.
On the mound, Braeden Harris was in complete control, tossing a two-hit shutout while striking out three to secure the win.
Game 2: Extra-Inning Thriller Goes to Alvin
Game 2 proved to be the most competitive contest of the series, as Alvin College outlasted Coastal Bend in a 10-9 extra-inning victory in Beeville.
The Dolphins displayed their power at the plate, launching four home runs from Asa Sampson, Justin Garcia Hernandez, Nayden Ramirez, and Jayce Richardson.
After multiple lead changes, Alvin capitalized in the 10th inning to seal the win. Shane Jessen delivered a clutch relief performance, shutting down Coastal Bend over the final innings to preserve the victory.
Game 3: Fenton Dominates as Dolphins Take Control
Returning home, Alvin continued its momentum with a 6-1 win behind a dominant outing from Cole Fenton.
Fenton struck out nine over seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits. Offensively, Alvin broke the game open with a four-run third inning.
Jackson Castillo and James Dorotik each drove in two runs to lead the Dolphins at the plate.
Game 4: Pitching Secures the Sweep
In the series finale, Alvin edged Coastal Bend 3-2 to complete the sweep.
The Dolphins capitalized on a three-run fifth inning, which proved to be the difference. Jackson Castillo, Nayden Ramirez, and John Moya each recorded RBIs.
