BASEBALL SWEEPS HOME-OPENING WEEK WITH THREE STRAIGHT WINS
Alvin College Baseball kicked off its home schedule in exciting fashion last week, securing three straight victories against Ranger College and Navarro College.
Game 1: Alvin College 9, Ranger College 8 (12 Innings)
The Dolphins opened their home slate with a thriller. Ranger College jumped out fast, putting Alvin in an early hole with a 5–1 lead after the first inning.But Alvin refused to fold. The momentum shifted in the 6th inning, when the Dolphins erupted for five runs, tying the game and electrifying the home crowd. Both teams battled scoreless through extras until Alvin finally broke through in the 12th inning, walking it off and sealing a gritty 9–8 comeback victory.
Game 2: Alvin College 5, Ranger College 1 (5 Innings)
Alvin carried their momentum into the second matchup with Ranger College. Solid pitching and timely hitting set the tone early. The Dolphins scored four runs in the first two innings, giving themselves a comfortable lead they never relinquished. Behind strong defense and a clean game in the field, Alvin closed out a convincing 5–1 win to sweep the Ranger series.
Game 3: Alvin College 11, Navarro College 4
Alvin capped off the week with a dominant showing against Navarro College. The Dolphins attacked early with a four-run first inning, added steady production throughout, and exploded again in the 7th and 8th innings for six more runs.With 11 hits (3HR's), clean defense, and shutdown pitching late, Alvin controlled the game from start to finish, securing an emphatic 11–4 victory.
