Savanah Salazar Makes 1st Team All-Conference as Infielder
ACC Softball's Savanah Salazar has been named to the All-Conference First Team as an Infielder for her work offensively and as a first baseman this season. The Freshman from San Antonio's Burbank High School was a rock solid member of the Dolphins lineup and infield in her first season in Alvin. Salazar lead the team in Hits (60), Slugging Percentage (.500), and Extra Base Hits (13). Savanah's .390 Batting Average, 31 RBI's, 13 Walks, and 27 Runs were all near the top of the team. Salazar played nearly every game at first base, and put up a .971 Fielding Percentage. Notable performances for Savannah this season include ; hitting a Grand-Slam against Southwest Mississippi, and notching three hit games against Western Texas, San Jacinto, Trinity Valley, Lamar-Port Arthur and San Jacinto again. "Savanah is one of the hardest working athletes and is a great teammate. She is always looking to improve herself and her team." said Coach Farmer when asked about Salazar. ACC Softball and Savanah Salazar are looking to have a strong showing in the Regional Tournament starting on Saturday, with their first game slated to be against #10 Trinity Valley.
